Sessions are not always available. Over the weeks that the students are with us, as they finish their courses we can offer more types of sessions.

Commonly asked questions:

1) What is required of me to have a session?

To make an appointment ahead of time.
To be on time; call if you are going to be late or need to cancel an appointment. Students only have to stay for 15 minutes after start time; you will have a shorter session with the original cost.
If receiving a massage, to realize that we do not have a shower so you may have oil in your hair and on your clothing when you are finished.
      To remember these are students.

2) What if I do not like a certain session or student?
Please advise the staff of any issues.  It may be that it is the students first time.
Personalities can clash and we can make sure you are not with the same student again.  If it does happen more than once it may not be the right place for your enjoyment.

3) What can I have done?
Session availability is determined by how many students we have, what the students know and what case studies homework they need to finish.

4) What are the prices?
Compared to regular retail pricing in a Spa or Natural Health Clinic, clients receive a reduced rate for the sessions they are to receive from our students.

5) Are tips allowed?
Tips are not expected but, if you wish to do so, the money goes to the students.

6) What am I to expect during a session?

-Every time you have a session with a new student, you will be asked the same routine questions on the master client health forms.  If you have the same student, you will be able to bypass the master client health form.  The student will still ask you a couple of questions on the individual session forms.

- In the beginning, the students are taught the day spa treatments; by the end, the students branch out to their diploma program, some are taught more of the healing/preventative medicine treatments.

- Your sessions may vary depending on what stage the students have reached.  Each modality - be it Massage, Reflexology, Reiki, for example has a specific technique and, in the beginning of the program, the students follow it very precisely.  As they come close to the end of the program, the students start to blend the modalities for the session so as to be individualized for the client.

- A Session is 60 minutes in length.
10 -15 minutes to fill out forms
     5 mins for undressing
     5 mins for redressing
     35- 40 mins for treatment
Next time you come in and have the same student your first 15 minutes may be 5 minutes.

- Every student uses his/her own individual pressure and not all can change that for the client.

7) What are the students not allowed to do?
Diagnose, prescribe or change any medications.  The students are not Doctors and should never treat a client as if they were.  The students are not Massage Therapists, either, and cannot treat a specific area.  The students are taught to do a general/specific/general routine. All the sessions help to reduce stress, improve circulation and balance the body (homeostasis).

The students are encouraged to educate the client in the simple ways the client can help themselves; be it meditation, the quick fix, even simple homework.
The students are taught there are two types of clients: those who want to be pampered (day spa / relaxation), and those who want to help themselves heal (alternative medicine).

Again, in the beginning of all the students' programs, clients are considered 'pampering' clients (facial, mani-care, massage, for example) and only the Natural Health Practitioners or Wholistic Practitioners students, as they progress, will start to bring in their preventative medicine techniques (body balancing).

We have had many years of happy clients and we do look forward to having you as a client case study.
