Reflexology (Reflex Study) is the study of activating reflex points, usually on the feet or hands, which correlate with specific anatomy parts that are divided into ten zones through the body. This practise of acupressure, energy and massage techniques stimulates the nervous system to awaken the autonomic nervous system and adjust the body to its optimum balance. The objective of this Reflexology course is to impart extensive knowledge to the student in order to foster and preserve these high ideals upon which the principles of Reflexology are based, and to provide a comprehensive training and education program designed to enable the student to provide a high quality service to the public.

Need Grade twelve or be a mature student (19 and have been out of school at least one year)
Graduation Requirements
Homework, Written Exams, Case Studies, Optional Certificates, Practical Exams

Topics covered in this course include:

  • History & Theory In depth description of Reflexology, and its origins is given in this part of the course. The uses and benefits of Reflexology for humans (and even animals) in relieving stress and tension are discussed, as well as the Reflexology principles. You will learn when and to whom Reflexology may be given as therapy, and depending on the nature of the illness or dis-ease, how often it should be administered. Also discussed are the do's and don'ts of both, practitioners and clients.
  • Zones of the Body /Anatomy, Physiology the student will learn human anatomy & physiology and the zones of the body as they correspond with the zones of the feet.
  • Reflexology Health Records Preparation of case histories. How to document each client during and after treatment. Preparation of health records & session records.
  • Foot checkup Common problems found in feet and how to recognize and rectify them. Foot terms and conditions and the causes of these conditions are studies in detail.
  • Reflexes of the toes Location for reflexes of the toes, as they correspond to specific parts of the body. Also discussed is foot Reflexology method for the toe areas.
  • Key Areas of Emphasis for Specific Conditions in Reflexology Key areas and the conditions they respond to during Reflexology. Common systems under stress
  • Hand & Foot Reflexology Methods the session and how to conduct the session with a client. Inspection and complete treatment of the feet. Completing the session and preparation for the next client. The four major things to avoid in Reflexology practice. Relaxation techniques.
